The curriculum, study resources, and grading structure for the IRM's Level 1 Global ERM Exam is being revised for the February 2023 assessment and beyond. Any candidate (Student or Working Professional) enrolling for IRM's Level 1 February 2023 and future assessments will be required to prepare in line with the below changes.
A. INTRODUCTION OF AN ADDITIONAL HANDBOOK
(Extended Enterprise - Managing risk in complex 21st-century organisations)
While there is a small section on Extended Enterprise in the current Handbook, it is important for candidates at the Foundation Level, to also learn how we manage risk in today’s complex organisations, their value chains and networks of relationships – what many call the ‘Extended Enterprise’. Extended Enterprise looks at how all organisations are affected by the way that others in their value chain and network manage risk and the complexities that can arise from these relationships. It aims to study the complex network of relationships that underpin public and private economic activity in modern economies. Outsourced services, IT security, supplier assessments, joint ventures and partnerships, alliances, and informal arrangements, together with the speed of change can all present challenges.
Candidates will be required to study an additional new Handbook which is an executive summary of how to manage risks in the extended enterprise. Handbook 2 will be provided in print and digital (through the e-resource centre) as part of the examination fees at no additional cost.
B. UPDATE IN THE SELF STUDY V/S STUDYING THROUGH NMIMS-CIS
With a view to supporting candidates in preparing better and enhancing their success rate in the examination, a new learning option was introduced in collaboration with our National Learning Partner - NMIMS, Center for International Studies.
Depending on the learning option you choose (i.e. self-study or study through NMIMS-CIS) you will gain access to a variety of study tools and resources to help you prepare for the exam.
